  2. Your risk tolerance for downtime. If a machine going down for a week costs you a big customer, don't compromise on reliability. Buy new or well-maintained used.
  3. Your ability to absorb hidden costs. If your budget is $100k and that's everything you can spend, you need to be extremely careful with used purchases. A surprise $20k repair could be a disaster.
